#40 – Becoming a blogger

Posted by Megan on February 24th, 2012

I’ve been neglecting writing my final blog because…. well… I’m sad to see it come to an end. In the last 10 months I’ve met new people, shared

new experiences and become a more well rounded person. (Not in the donut eating way – although I did plenty of that too.) I bought a goat, I saw a glacier, I took a city bus. It was a big year for me. One of my favorite parts of my quest to do 40 new things, was how enthusiastically supportive my friends, colleagues, and even strangers were to share their passions with me. (Not in THAT way- Sicko!)  From biking with Mario to making jewelry with Stacy – it was inspiring to be part of the enthusiasm that only exists when someone is wholeheartedly single new experience I had was a joyous triumph. Large and small – I accomplished a lot this year!

I’ve finally completed my fortieth quest – to write a blog. Thanks for joining me on this journey. I’ve enjoyed every single step.

Don’t worry – there will be more adventures for me. My personality has fundamentally changed this year– I’m no longer intimidated by  new things. Instead of clenching onto the comforts of my everyday life, I’m now the first one in line for the high dive. Or at least I will be come summer.

So stay tuned, I’m ready and waiting for my next adventure and I can’t wait to share it with you.

Just in case you’re curious about how I spent my 30th birthday:  in true Megan-Steil I spent it doing something brand new. Bouncing at a trampoline park with some of my closest and most fun friends.

The patented Steil-Swap.

Some of my favorite buddies helped me celebrate the big three-o at my Big Bouncie Birthday Party at Skyzone.

When I got home I was greeted by this:

And when I woke up the next day – I did not feel old, I didn’t have a mental breakdown, I didn’t shed one tear because after all – I have set the stage for a pretty awesome forth decade.
